Greystones Exclusive Double Feature Curbed and 6SqFt

$388K for a classic prewar co-op in the Jackson Heights Historic District

and Curbed:

For under $400K, a big and bright Jackson Heights co-op in a historic building

Lots of space in one of the neighborhood’s nicest buildings

Welcome back to The Six-Digit Club, in which we take a look at a newish-to-market listing priced under $1 million, because nice things sometimes come in small packages. Send nominations to the tipline.

You can always count on Jackson Heights for spacious, well-laid-out co-ops at somewhat reasonable prices, and this one-bedroom co-op—located within the Greystones, one of the neighborhood’s first and best-known planned apartment complexes—doesn’t disappoint.

Three large rooms provide plenty of space, and access to a private storage space is included in the $388,500 asking price. And even though the complex was built at the turn of the 20th century, this particular apartment has gotten some modern upgrades, including a totally transformed kitchen and bathroom. (And seriously, that kitchen—which is big enough to fit storage and a dining table—is the stuff of cramped city-dwellers’ dreams.)

On the downside, the apartment is located on the Greystones’s first floor, but in relatively quiet Jackson Heights, that may not be too much of an issue. Maintenance is set at just $621/month, and the building comes with shared common spaces (including a garden and a roof deck), laundry, and a live-in super.

All in all, this is a pretty sweet deal.
